Welcome to the NSD Information Blog

The NSD Information Blog is an interim solution on the way to having a fully interactive website. E-blasts are great but we have found that often the information doesn't get to our members. We are hoping this blog will house the lasted news, information on courses, requests for assistance and provide a responsive link to NSD for our members. It will alos have links to our subgroups and units websites or blogs. This site is not private so please do not post information of a personal or patient nature.

Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada (PFC) announces more than $70,000 in available grant funding and scholarships in 2011

VERSION FRANÇAISE CI-DESSOUS

Dear All,

On behalf of the Board of Governors of the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada (PFC), I am pleased to announce that there will be more than $70,000 in available grant funding and scholarships in 2011.

Physiotherapy researchers and students are encouraged to apply prior to the February 18, 2011 deadline.
The Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada (PFC), a nationally registered charitable organization, funds physiotherapy research in Canada to improve mobility, health and well-being.
More specifically, PFC supports:
research on the effectiveness of physiotherapeutic interventions and approaches;
research on biomedical and psychosocial factors that contribute to long-term disability;
the creation and validation of tools needed to objectively measure the effectiveness of physiotherapeutic interventions.
These efforts are oriented to the priorities of practicing physiotherapists with particular attention given to new research arising from current clinical issues and projects that may initiate new research endeavours by clinicians and students.
Each grant administered and awarded by PFC must pass a rigorous internal and external review process, and must address relevant subjects as identified within the physiotherapy community.
Award descriptions, regulations and application forms can be found at: www.physiotherapyfoundation.ca.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Kindest regards,

la recherche sur l’efficacité des interventions et des approches de physiothérapie;
la recherche sur les facteurs biomédicaux et psychosociaux qui contribuent aux invalidités de longue durée;

Chantal Dompierre

New Logo

The votes are in! This is our new logo. Thanks to all the members who voted and gave their thoughtful opinions. The logo process was lengthy. A creative brief was completed. After the brief the executive were sent a variety of logos from other organizations to view and some concept diagrams. Eventually the present concept was presented. The executive decided to seek more examples and eventually chose three to be shared with the membership. All the logos were professionally done. We thank Kathy and Karl Jaworski for their work on this project and Natalie Bovair and the CPA Communications Department.
